Hello everyone! This is Nancy of sophitia.org and as everyone else I love webdesign. So I want to bring up my favourite discussion too ^^

Why do you webdesign?

Personally, I love browsing the web for years now. And I remember seeing sites that were good but not as good as I wanted. I wanted to give people like me some extra stuff so now I webdesign to share my love for a character that I make a shrine for and to give my visitors what they are looking for :D

(erm perhaps I will edit this post when I have more inspiration ^_^)

Hi everyone! Thank you for joining! I thought I'd get the ball rolling here with my own question -- it's my favourite topic to discuss about. So, how do you think webdesigning collectives have changed in the past couple years or so? Trends, styles?

For me, I remember the time when frames were really popular. In fact, any site (collective, shrine, fanlisting, etc) that wasn't built with a frames layout was thought to be too confusing. Nowadays, I do believe that tabled layouts are more favorable, especially centered in the middle of the screen. One-paged fanlistings were also all the rage.

I also think originality and creativity is becoming more and more important than it was, say, three years ago. There are a lot of ideas webowners come up with and -- I wouldn't say copy or steal -- but the idea is replicated because the vast majority also like that idea. It's usually small, creative things that become popular -- hey, less is more, right?

Assuming everyone who joins have a collective, I thought it'd be great to collect all the links in one place. Simply comment with your collective's URL and I'll add it to the userinfo =)
